Introduction to Essay on Clean India Mission
Purity in the mind has the same place as cleanliness in the body. The mind is an indicator of internal feelings and thoughts and the external environment. We use many things in life. Their waste makes the environment around us impure. To remove this impurity, we have to make individual and collective efforts.
Cleanliness in India
Uncleanliness is a serious problem in India. Our culture emphasizes purity of mind more than cleanliness of the external environment. As a result, people of India do not seem to be that concerned about uncleanliness. Uncleanliness is seen in both rural and urban areas. To remove this uncleanliness, Swachh Bharat Mission was started by the Government of India. It is the responsibility of all the citizens of India to complete this Swachh Bharat Mission. If all of us citizens of India become aware of this issue, then we will not have to face uncleanliness in the future.
Unclean villages and cities
Villages are unclean. There is lack of paved streets and drains and there is also a problem of garbage disposal. There is some relief from the ill effects of uncleanliness in villages, because nature itself performs the duty of cleanliness there. Due to high population in cities, a huge amount of garbage is generated every day.
Sweeping and mopping the streets and roads, picking up the garbage and taking it to the dumping ground, making arrangements for its disposal, making arrangements for using dirty water for irrigation by passing it through drains, etc. are the tasks performed by social institutions like Nagar Palika etc.
There is a problem in villages due to lack of toilets in the houses, but the uncleanliness caused by open defecation is not as terrible as in the cities. In cities, the residents of the houses which do not have toilets can be seen defecating on the sides of roads, railway lines, empty grounds and drains. Due to lack of money, it is not possible to arrange sewerage lines for everyone.
Uncleanliness and ill health
Uncleanliness is closely related to ill health. Due to lack of cleanliness, various diseases spread among people. Infant and maternal mortality rate is very high in many countries of the world. India is also one of them. Efforts are being made to reduce it. A global conference was organized in New Delhi on this subject. In India, in 1990, out of every thousand children under the age of 5, 126 died. In 1913, India was successful in reducing this number to 49.
Meanwhile, infant mortality rate has decreased by 6.6% per year. The number of women dying during childbirth, which was 560 per thousand in 1990, has also decreased to 67. Even now, preventing many diseases caused by uncleanliness is a big problem for India.
Clean India Mission
Prime Minister of India Modi Ji has called upon the citizens of the country to join the Swachhta Abhiyan. Cleanliness is not only the responsibility of government institutions but also of every citizen. The dirt we see around us is also due to our habits. We throw garbage wherever we want and spread dirt. Throwing banana peels on the streets while eating is our bad habit. I saw a foreigner who was sealing bananas while eating and putting them in a bag hanging on his shoulder.
In other countries, cleaning your surroundings yourself is not considered bad. Mahatma Gandhi did not consider it bad to clean the toilet in his ashram. The great storyteller Munshi Premchand used to clean the toilet in the morning with the broom of his house. The aim of the Swachhta Abhiyan going on in India is to create a feeling in people that they should make a habit of cleaning their home and surroundings. By doing this, we will be able to make a significant contribution in the interest of our and our children’s health.
Conclusion of Clean India Mission Essay
Cleanliness is very important for good health. The habit of cleaning our school, house, factory etc. ourselves will make us self-reliant in terms of cleanliness. The change that will come in our environment due to this will be very beneficial for our health. Although uncleanliness can be prevented by strict punishment system, but developing the habit of cleanliness is a good solution.
