1. (a) Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow.

i) Who wanted to become a batsman? (कौन बल्लेबाज बनना चाहता था?)

उत्तर: The narrator wanted to become a batsman.
स्पष्टीकरण: पैसेज की पहली ही पंक्ति में कहा गया है, “Right from the beginning, I wanted to become a batsman…” जिसका अर्थ है कि शुरुआत से ही वक्ता (नैरेटर) एक बल्लेबाज बनना चाहता था।
ii) Why would the narrator fight?(लेखक क्यों झगड़ा करता था?)

5) Read the passage given below and answer the questions that follow:

Stress is nothing but mental tension or anxiety which is caused by the work at hand. This happens when one is not able to deal with that work. For example, a student who has no aptitude for a subject is compelled to take it up either because of parental pressure or because of pressure from peer groups or due to perceived importance of the subject itself. When he or she finds it difficult to cope with it and wants a change the external pressures deny him or her such a change. This situation leads to stress. No work is done well when one’s mind is under stress. This inability to do well leads to diffidence.

It is the next planet beyond the earth in distance from the sun. Mars is about half the diameter of the earth and it rotates around the sun in just under two years. But Mars has a day that is almost equal in length to our day here on earth.
